![]() It has been a very interesting summer for me. I have been to some networking functions and have had opportunities to practice my graphic design skills for a client. I have been really thinking about the road that I want to take going forward. Art used to be almost 90% of my life but by last year, teaching crept back and I found a missing feeling of the joy that comes with instructing. Not that I won't continue the occasional illustration or painting, or even graphic design, but my passion is really for instructing, mentoring and facilitating. I miss being with people and leading a classroom. I love to see the proverbial light bulb go off over someone's head when they get a concept. I have been trained to be an abstract thinker. I took a course in Industrial Design called Creative Problem Solving which included the Triz method. I also taught a creative thinking course at the Design School at Fanshawe for 2 years when I was teaching portfolio design for Urban Design Students. If you think about it for a second, for someone who has been trained to think creatively and "outside the box" , not utilizing my skills is making me a bit frustrated. I am still looking for a connection in which my love for collaborating with others can evolve into employment for the next 10 years. I know I have unique skills that not many others have and I hope someone out there will see this and see an opportunity for the right fit. On an aside, I want to thank all the people who have endorsed my skills on my LinkedIn site in the last year or so. It is amazing to have people tip their hat to you for your past work. I am a very grateful person who is very fortunate in their life with an amazing family and a beautiful home that we built with our own hands and hearts. I am looking forward to sharing my love for life with a new opportunity.
