As a painter many things inspire me, from people and animals, to nature and architecture. As a graduate of Graphic Design from BealArt and Industrial Design from Fanshawe Design, I have both a fine art and technical background: that is why I don't stick to one particular subject. As an illustrator I have historically stayed close to creating paintings that tend to be more realistic and have developed a vibrant colour palette.
Lately I have developed an interest in creating more abstract paintings and am enjoying learning new techniques. That is one of the things I love most about creating art - you never stop learning and exploring. As a former instructor of design theory and graphic software, I draw (excuse the pun) on my knowledge of how design elements work together. At BealArt, it was called the Visual Vocabulary which includes concepts like positive and negative space, harmony, repetition, contrast and many others. Painting is my passion and I will paint for the rest of my days. I am sure I will continue to find new things to inspire me as time goes on, I have been painting for over 13 years and I still find ideas that capture my imagination. I feel very blessed that I have the opportunity and facility to paint what inspires me.
