After my Rocking Horse, I decided to try to paint portraits of my children. This was the first one that I attempted and I must admit that there is quite a difference with this one, the next (Jacob) and the third (Grandma). Each have more detail and better technique as I go along.

The photo that this image came from was taken at my daughter's Christmas ballet recital. The week before she had lost both of her front teeth. The crown she was wearing was made of silver pipe cleaner. I kept the crown as per the original photo because I felt it added to the innocence and charm of the painting.

Bianca is a very exuberant young lady and I am very proud to have this as my first try at an oil portrait.
