Paintings
I spent 13 years painting after I stopped teaching. I have always been able to draw people and then I had the time to paint them! The first painting in the list is of Gordon Depp from The Spoons. The rest are mainly family members except for the painting of Bruce Lee and American Kenpo Grandmaster Frank Trejo of course. The final painting was a commission from a Women's Studies professor at Western who wanted an image of Virginia Woolf and Alice Walker. Two feminist writers from very different times. I decided to paint Virginia Woolf in black and white and she was also placed in an oval to represent a cameo or locket that was very popular in her time and to denote that she was from a time long past.
